Transition Services
Are you retiring or separating from the military?  The Airman and Family Readiness Center's Transition Assistance Program (TAP) has many services to make your transition out of the military a positive and easier experience.

TAP services are primarily employment related and are available to military members, DoD civilian employees, and their authorized family members.  These services include individual counseling, workshops & seminars, Individual Transition Plans (ITPs), job search assistance and use of the Discovery Center. Department of Labor - Employment Workshop - Transition Assistance Program
This 5 day intensive workshop teaches you how to transition out of the military into the civilian sector or into retirement. 
It will show you how to receive maximum response from your resume, cover letters and interview skills.  It is held once a month o from 0800-1600. Registration is required and seats fill up quickly. Call the Airman & Family Readiness Center to register at 623-856-6550

TAMP Briefing - DD Form 2648 - Transition Assistance Management Program
This congressionally-mandated briefing is for all military members who served at least 6 months on active duty.  The program must be completed at least 90 days prior to your date of separation or retirement.  The briefing is held two Mondays per month.  Please contact the Luke AFB A&FRC at 623-856-6550 for scheduling.

Spouse Employment
Where is your career headed?  The A&FRC provides employment assistance and career planning for spouses of active duty military members.  We also assist employers who are looking for qualified candidates.

Employment assistance is available!
- Counselors are available for both immediate and long-range career planning. We link job seekers with prospective employers in the community. We help job seekers with effective job search strategies.  There are tons of websites that claim they can help you get a job, we know which ones really work! We can assist with the development of your resume and review it for you too! Maybe you don't know what you want to do with your life, or you want to design a long term career plan we can help you with that!
-  Funds provided through the Air Force Aid Society are available for active duty Air Force spouses interested in pursuing a career as a Pharmacy Technician. Contact Ms. Thompson at (623) 856-6550 for more information.


- The Discovery Center is located at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. It has listings of job announcements received daily, computers are available for resume writing, sample resumes and cover letters and access to hundreds of job search websites all at your fingertips.  No need to search for them on your own, we've done all the work for you. Best of all you'll have the A&FRC's experienced staff available on hand to answer any questions you may have. Don't miss out, visit the Discovery Center today!

- The Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts Program (MyCAA) is a career development and employment assistance program sponsored by the Department of Defense (DOD). MyCAA helps military spouses pursue higher learning necessary for gainful employment in high demand, high growth portable career fields and occupations. Click here for more information.

Job Fairs The Luke AFB job fair is held annually in May at Club 56.

DES Job Services
AZ Dept of Economic Security (DES) Workforce Development Representative
DES Workforce Development is a network of employment offices providing placement services to job seekers.  Workforce Development matches and refers job seekers to available jobs for which they are best qualified.  A DES Workforce Development representative is assigned to the Luke AFB Airman and Family Readiness Center.  The DES representative provides the following services:


-Interviews applicants to identify job experience, skills and interests
-Counsels applicants who need to make a career choice or change.
-Provides information about jobs, qualification requirements and physical demands.
-Refers applicants to suitable job openings.
