Benefits of Volunteering
Rewards!
Volunteers give Team Luke a gift of over $1.5 million every year! This amount represents the dollar equivalent of the hours that volunteers contribute to our community. As a small token of appreciation, our Volunteer Recognition Program recognizes volunteers annually. Every volunteer who works at least 12 hours in a month will receive a Parking Pass that authorizes them to park in specially designated reserved Volunteer Parking Spaces at the Base Exchange, Commissary, and the Medical Treatment Facility. In addition, books containing coupons for various specials are issued to volunteers who volunteer 12 - 23 hours, 24 - 39 hours, and 40+ hours a month. Those individuals who volunteer 40+ hours are entered into our quarterly drawing for BX coupon books, movie passes, a $50 savings bond, and a free overnight stay at a cabin at Fort Tuthill. On an annual basis, volunteers are honored at the Volunteer Recognition Ceremony where five annual awards are presented. The most exceptional volunteer in the following categories are recognized: Active Duty, Military Retired, Non-Military, and Youth. The USAF Chief of Staff Volunteer Excellence Award is selected from all non-active duty nominees. Volunteers don’t donate their time for recognition - but this is our small way of showing appreciation for the work they do. Volunteering does have its rewards!
